Birthday Cupcakes/cake

Ryan wanted chocolate cupcakes for his birthday...sweet I thought! That's easy to make. Yet, after I made them I realized I didn't have any frosting and it was too late to load up the kids and go to the store for some, so I just made my own frosting. But the can of evaporated milk that I used was expired, but I didn't realize that until after I made it and frosted all the cupcakes! Ugh. So I then had to scrape it all off, or as much as I could anyway and this is what we were left with...

Luckily his work got him this cute little BSU colored birthday cake to make up for my lack of skills as a pastry chef.

Blow harder!! "Put your back into it!"

Birthday kisses for Dad. Happy Birthday Ryan!!

Our Birthday Boy!

I hesitate to post things sometimes, but it's my husband's birthday today and I don't get the chance to brag about my husband much, but today I must! (sorry!)
My husband is pretty darn amazing. He is extremely patient, empathetic and kind. He is always serving others. He is the 1st counselor in the Bishopric right now and because of that he has many responsibilities and is often times gone 6-8 hours on Sundays, and sometimes up to 8 hours during the week in the evenings with appointments and more meetings. Of course I would love for him to be home with me, because I am selfish like that. But I also love that he is out serving and helping others. It brings me strength and I can still feel his Priesthood power in the home protecting us even when he is gone. I am so grateful for him and the example he is to our girls. They love their dad so much and because of the way he treats me, they have expressed they want to marry someone just like their dad in the temple someday...That truly says it all, and is the biggest compliment, the way he treats others, them and me of who he is as a person. I am sometimes in awe of him and how selfless he is. Don't know how I got so lucky to snatch him for my husband for eternity but I did!

I would like to share just one example about who my husband is. One night Ryan walked in the door from a long day of work and he knew he had to be out the door in less than hour to go to church meetings. So he didn't have a lot of time to eat, dress and be off again. But instead of coming and sitting down to eat his dinner, that was now getting cold, he sat down with the girls on the couch to read a few books with them. He shows by his example that they mean more to him than anything else. It's no wonder Avery has said multiple times that she wants to marry her dad!( haha!) So glad I did though!

I just thought this was such a sweet moment I decided to take a picture of it. He is a great example to me of so many things, especially his selflessness.

Happy Birthday Babe! I love you!

Baby Megan

So I know this might be a little weird to post about other people's kids, but this little baby has stolen a piece of my heart! Her name is Megan and I babysat Megan and her two sisters, Hannah and Mariah several times this summer while their mom was working. It was great to be able to make a little money while playing with this adorable baby! Ryan and I are done having kids we believe, and I sometimes miss the baby stage, so it was the perfect combination. I got to watch Megan sometimes and then I got to give her back when her parents came. ;)

She is such a sweetheart and such a good baby. Isn't she a doll?

Even the girls fell in love with Megan!

Stetson and Celeste Kauer's Wedding

My little sister got married on Sept 14th. She married her boyfriend of 2+ years. He is a great guy and treats her so well. He has been apart of the family for a while now but now it's official! The wedding ceremony was a bit fast but it was good. Celeste and Stetson both looked amazing!

Here we go! Down the aisle...

Seeing Double!

We got a ton of rain this week! Parts of Idaho were flooded. It was pretty crazy weather. But afterwards, we saw a beautiful double rainbow over our house.

First Day of School

The girls were so excited to get school clothes and pick out what they were going to wear for their first day. Avery and Emily both ride a bus to school. Avery catches her bus at 11:20 and Emily's bus comes 10 minutes after. It's so nice having a few hours to myself, to clean or run errands alone.  And then be home before they get back. After school Avery comes home on the bus with Madisen. And then Emily's bus drops her off in front of our home about an hour later.

Madisen was more than ready to start 2nd grade.  She looked beautiful!

 Beautiful Emily

This picture just cracked me up...

Cutie-pie Avery!

I dropped Avery and Emily off on their first day of school. The following day Avery rode the bu,s but me- being the crazy, paranoid mom that I am sometimes, followed the bus to school to make sure she got there safely and to show her where to line up. I am sure the bus driver rolled her eyes at me a few times! haha! Avery did great though, and I no longer worry about her.

Emily and I got to her school afterwards and played on the playground till her school started.

I love being able to watch her play and run and laugh.

I have mixed feelings about my kids going back to school. I love to have them home with me, knowing they are safe and I can cuddle with them at any moment of the day. But it's also nice when they are at school to have some time to myself too.
