My Grandparents Home

This was my grandpa and grandma Newman's house when I was growing up. They lived up in the mountains of Star Valley Wyoming. I loved visiting them and their home. They had acres of land all around them to hike and explore. To ride snow mobiles and sled down hills. It was like kid paradise! And it really was filled with so many great memories with me and my siblings and cousins. We used to sled down the hill next to my grandparents house and it was so fun! I remember peeing my pants one time as I laughed so hard! Another time we went on a hike behind their home and ran into a moose! We saw Elk, deer and all sorts of wildlife on those hikes. In the summer time we would take my grandparents RV and boat and drive south a few hours and go boating at Bear Lake. So many special memories!

One of my cousins bought their home when my grandmother got too sick and they had to relocate somewhere closer for her to get assistance. My grandpa stayed by her side until she passed away and then he moved to Mount Pleasant, Utah. My cousin Amber posted on Facebook one day that it had burned down. I was so sad to hear this. I am glad she and her family are safe but what a loss it was. But I wanted to show a before picture because it really was such a special place to me and I believe everyone else too.

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Here's dad conducting as we sang Happy Birthday to him! Haha. His favorite dessert is Razzleberrry pie with Tillamook ice cream. He loves it! And we love him!
He's 42... And still looking as handsome as ever, if not more.
How is it that guys always look better with age?? So not fair. ;)

Homeschooling with the Branvolds

Once a month I would switch off with the Branvolds and we would have the girls research a country that month. They would all come with what they learned about that country and present it to the others. This month was Mexico and we had Dad talk about his mission to Mexico and the traditions, customs and food they would eat. After that I taught the girls how to make Churros. They did really well! Then we do a science experiment. This science experiment was learning about PH balances with berries.

Robert Stuart Cross Country Team

Avery has always been really fast even though she isn't that tall for her age, she sure knows how to book it! It is so fun to watch her get better and faster with each race she did. A  few pictures of Avery and her team doing stretches and running through out the season.

Water painting with mom

For Emily's homeschooling we would try to do a different project a few times a month. This time we tried our hand at water paining. Emily did a great job for her first time!

Shucking Corn

Every other year we buy between 200-300 ears of corn to freeze. There is an assembly line of shucking, washing, boiling, cutting it off the cob and then putting them all in freezer bags to store in the freezer. It usually lasts us about 2 years and then we need to do it all over again. It's good for the kids to learn these skills!
