Hot Dang! It's the Soggy Bottom Boys!

It's this stuff right here that makes being in the college ward so amazing! They put on the best activities every week and we can to be a part of it. The bishopric put on this amazing performance of "Constant Sorrow". Their dance moves were incredible, and the lip sinking skills were out of this world. :)  Avery also braved it on stage by performing her hula hoop in front of 70+ college kids. She showed everyone that she could run while hula hooping, skip, and move the hula hoop up to her neck then back down to her knees all while keeping it going. She has been practicing not letting it fall to the ground for as long as she can. I think she is up to an half hour now. I was so proud of them both for showing off their talents.

Burley Idaho

We love that Ryan is in the college ward bishopric because it makes us feel young-er than we are and we get to do the coolest activities with some of the greatest people. We went to this place in Burley just about 30 minutes drive from us and they had a biplane, paddle boating around the moat, and jumping off the bridge onto this HUGE air tube. One person would be sitting on one end and others would jump off the bridge onto the opposite end and it would spring the person sitting, through the air!
It was so fun to watch some of the guys shoot the girls way up in the air, like 20 feet! At the end of the owner shoots this rocket of candy up in the air and the kids go scrambling for it. Such a fun time with the college ward!

College Ward Talent Show

We had a college ward talent show and many people showed us some great talents. It was epic. Especially hearing from the band group, Final Warning! Oooweee! They were great. Especially that drummer boy.  This is the awesome Bishopric...from left to right, Bishop Bingham, Ryan-1st counselor, Brother Steele- ward clerk, and Brett Thomas-2nd counselor.

And here are all the students that were there that night. Such a great group of kids. It's been such a fun calling for Ryan to serve in and also for us as a family, as we get to be with them all on F.H.E every Monday night, temple on Friday nights, Sunday night ward prayers and even Saturday activities like rafting, BBQ's and service projects. Our kids are welcomed and adored by the college students and it has helped them with confidence and independence. It's been awesome and such a blessing in all our lives!

College Christmas Party

Now that Ryan is serving as 1st counselor in the Bishopric of a college ward, we as a family get the chance to go to a lot of actives the college ward does. The girls love being with the college kids, as they make them feel so special and some of them enjoy playing games with our girls. One girl even bought the girls a Christmas present this year. So sweet of her to do that.

Along with his calling however, are a lot of responsibilities and he is gone more often with callings. We are so proud of him though and I love to see him serve where he can make such a big impact in these college kids' lives for the better.

Doesn't he look so dashing in his homemade sweater!? haha. I think he won the ugliest sweater award for the bishopric!

Here's the ward clerk, Chris and his wife, Sydney. They are newlyweds. They are an awesome couple. We had them come and babysit our kids one night so we could go to Boise to see Boise State beat BYU. Chris made the girls balloons shaped into anything they wanted! Quite a talent to have especially with kids.

Then of course there is 2nd counselor, Jared Heward, and his wife, Rachel. We were married around the same time they were back at BYU-Idaho. They were in our ward when we were all first married and Jared was assigned to be our Home Teacher. Now Twelve years later and we both have 4 kids and our husbands our serving together. Small world! It's good to see both of them after so long.

There is a house just about a mile from us that goes crazy with Christmas Lights every year. So this year we decided to head over there and check them out. They let anyone and everyone walk around their 2-acre lot looking at the lights. It was very pretty.
