Newman Family Christmas
For Christmas we try to play several family games, this one was a new one and it maybe will stick every year from now on. It was a big ball full of prizes wrapped in plastic wrap and the object was to unroll it as fast as you could getting as many of the prizes out before the person to your left rolled doubles. It was quite enjoyable seeing some of the kids try to perform this task fast.
We had a good snow storm when we were there and all the kids used the sleds to their full potential riding down the back yard slope with speed!
Grandpa Newman also got on his dune buggy and hooked up a few inter tubes and took the kids all around the yard several times. My parents just moved into their new home about 2 months ago. It's a beautiful home looking over the valley of Idaho Falls. They have almost 3 acres so they have lots of hills and paths along the sides of their house and shop.
My mom wanted a few collages put together for her home; one in their room and one by the front door. She knows I love to do them and to decorate. So she asked me if I put together these collages for her and we got them hung up that weekend too.

The Hodges Gingerbread House
Our yearly gingerbread houses tradition began and ended as it always does. It began with a beautifully constructed house precisely constructed by Dad. However, when the kids and mom start piling gobs of candy on top, it inevitably succumbs to the laws of physics and gravity and implodes. You can see the hopeful, excited faces of the girls, but also the look of trepidation as they seem to know that the end result is inevitable. Then, the look of sorrow and acceptance as their edible constuction falls to the dust. Dad has accepted it's fate before construction began, but he still feels a slight twinge of sadness in his heart each year.
Nailed it!

Christmas time is here...!
Christmas season is always magical and joyful! I love spending time with family. This Christmas season was no exception! It was a wonderful holiday spent with Dad, Trudy, Sean, Wendy and Jerry and of Course our beautiful kids. We recreated the night Christ was born, right in our living room, with the Penguin doll as baby Jesus. Everyone played their parts well.
We had a great Christmas morning opening presents and playing games together! And don't forget the amazing food and laughs we had!
