8 is GRRRRREAT!

Another year old and wiser...Madisen turned 8 and will be baptized May 4th. We are so excited for her. She loves dinosaurs still and wanted another dinosaur party! She had a dinosaur party when she turned 5 too. Aunt April was coming over that weekend to spend some time with a few friends in Boise and she was going to stop in and stay with us for the night. I asked her if she could get a T-Rex pinata while she was there. Madisen loved it!

All the kids got a turn swinging and trying to bust it open. After all 13 kids had a turn I got up to take a turn and in one hit, I be-headed the T-Rex. haha! Sorry kids!

 Madisen wanted a T-Rex cake too...well this is the best I could do. She loved it though! Phew!

New tradition...donuts for breakfast on their birthdays. She was really excited...can't you tell? haha. She was just super tired.

 Since we did her birthday party on Saturday we just made some brownies on Sunday for her real birthday...Madisen loves brownies.

And we sang to Emily again too.

4 Miraculous years!

Happy Birthday to our twins, Emily and Ethan!! 

 A tradition we started in our family when Madisen was young was to wake the birthday person up with breakfast in bed. But we changed it up a bit this year and did donuts instead... As if we weren't getting enough sugar in the day from the cake, ice cream and candy...Hey! let's add donuts to it too! Geesh. Who's idea was that??!

Oh yeah. Mine. Oops.

Emily had pre-school today and I got the chance to come to her class with treats and she felt so special handing them all out to her classmates. 

Emily was super patient waiting for Daddy to get home from work so we could open presents and have cake and ice cream.

For the last month she has been talking about wanting a Spiderman cake and I was thinking, "How am I going to make that??" But then just 2 days before her birthday she tells me instead she wants a rainbow cake. YES! Now, rainbow I can do! A Spiderman cake would have been tricky, but rainbow is definitely manageable! It didn't turn out like I pictured but she liked it and that's all that matters!

She got this great gift from Uncle Nate and Aunt Erin but couldn't open it till Dad got home but the box it came in was pretty darn cool too. It became her "car". I was joking around with her telling her she can't drive yet! She thought that was so funny and got a bad case of the giggles.

Finally! Dad's home and we can open presents!

Random Doings

Has it already been almost 3 weeks since my last post?! And I was doing so well there for awhile, posting every week. Darn. I'm a failure! hehe. JK!

Not a lot to report on since my last post. Conference weekend was awesome. The talks were amazing as always. I loved President Monson's talk and his story he shared about almost burning down the hill while camping. Also I enjoy Elder Ballard's talk. He is always such a powerful speaker. We had the girls watch two sessions and had words that they needed to listen for, and when they heard that word that would put a check mark next to it and each check mark they got to pick a small piece of candy/chocolate after.

We are getting ready to have a birthday party for Madisen on Saturday and her Baptism will be on May 4th. Can't believe my oldest is 8! I took just a few pictures of her to put on her announcements to send out...

The other thing we did last week was decorated our Master bedroom... finally!  And it turned out pretty good for the most part. The paint color was a little different then I thought but it's hard to tell when it's not up on the walls. I don't have pictures yet to share, but I will take some the next few days and post them. Yay!
