Just hanging out, making weird faces at grandma and grandpa's house for the weekend.
Because that's totally normal right?

#Outnumbered

Ryan is surrounding by 4 girls inside the house and 3 female cats. So you can say he's a bit outnumbered. But secretly, I think he loves it. He loves his girls! Even the cats.

Bishop Newman

My dad is one of my heroes. He is always looking to serve others. He is most generous and kind. He loves playing with his grandkids and you can always find him rolling around on the floor or building with Legos with the kids. He was always one of the hardest workers I know just to provide for our family.
He is also a great inventor! He has invented some pretty amazing things for his company that now reaches around the world. I am so proud of my dad and all that he has accomplished. And of course my mom was always by his side encouraging him on. They are a team.

My dad is also very caring and compassionate. We pray that both my mom and my dad have the guidance they need and the spirit with them during these next 5 years as serving as Bishop.  All these traits with the Spirit helping him with decisions for the ward, will help him to become even better than he is now, if that is even possible! ;) But really, we know he is going to be a great Bishop. Congrats Dad (and Mom). Or should I say, Bishop Newman! :) You'll do great! We love you so much!

BSU/Air Force Birthday Weekend...

This was the BEST Birthday present ever! Dad Hodges paid for Ryan, me and Wendy and Jerry to fly  to Colorado and go to the Air Force/BSU game which was Ryan's 36th Birthday weekend. The only thing that would have made this weekend perfect was if BSU won. But sadly they lost. It was one of their worse games ever! They had like 7 turnovers and it was just ugly all around. We had a great time though being together as a family and even Dan came and stayed with us. We all had such a great time we didn't want to leave! But we missed our girls too much to stay. But it was a weekend that will forever be remembered.
Thanks Dad Hodges for making that happen. We had an amazing time!

Happy Birthday Ryan! We love you and are so glad you were born! ;)

Date Night

Madisen had an activity days, Daddy/daughter date one night at the church and I decided to take Avery and Emily out on a Mommy/daughter date to Pizza Hut and then out shopping! The only picture I remembered to take was when we were pulling out of the sub division to go eat. I forgot to take pictures of the girls and I hanging out together. I guess that's a good thing as we were having too much fun!  But I did want to journal a little bit about it to let them know that we did have fun together even if they can't remember someday! :) haha.

Our very own Superman

This man of mine is amazing. I took this picture of him with the girls because this is what he was doing at the time....
Madisen made her own version of the game "Guess Who?" She was showing Ryan how to play it. So they were playing it together, but at the same time that was going on Emily wanted to cuddle with him. So he started cuddling with her as he played the game with Madisen. Then Avery came up and wanted him to do their special hand shake together that she made up. Where they both snap, clap, clap again, yell out whoot-whoot and raise their arms up in a "YEA!" shout, turn around, then lastly solute each other military style.
He was doing all three things at the same time while I was busy putting away dishes and I just had to chuckle to myself and grab the camera to document it. I love this man. He is such a great father and husband. He is our Superman!

Our Birthday Boy!

I hesitate to post things sometimes, but it's my husband's birthday today and I don't get the chance to brag about my husband much, but today I must! (sorry!)
My husband is pretty darn amazing. He is extremely patient, empathetic and kind. He is always serving others. He is the 1st counselor in the Bishopric right now and because of that he has many responsibilities and is often times gone 6-8 hours on Sundays, and sometimes up to 8 hours during the week in the evenings with appointments and more meetings. Of course I would love for him to be home with me, because I am selfish like that. But I also love that he is out serving and helping others. It brings me strength and I can still feel his Priesthood power in the home protecting us even when he is gone. I am so grateful for him and the example he is to our girls. They love their dad so much and because of the way he treats me, they have expressed they want to marry someone just like their dad in the temple someday...That truly says it all, and is the biggest compliment, the way he treats others, them and me of who he is as a person. I am sometimes in awe of him and how selfless he is. Don't know how I got so lucky to snatch him for my husband for eternity but I did!

I would like to share just one example about who my husband is. One night Ryan walked in the door from a long day of work and he knew he had to be out the door in less than hour to go to church meetings. So he didn't have a lot of time to eat, dress and be off again. But instead of coming and sitting down to eat his dinner, that was now getting cold, he sat down with the girls on the couch to read a few books with them. He shows by his example that they mean more to him than anything else. It's no wonder Avery has said multiple times that she wants to marry her dad!( haha!) So glad I did though!

I just thought this was such a sweet moment I decided to take a picture of it. He is a great example to me of so many things, especially his selflessness.

Happy Birthday Babe! I love you!

What High Priests do best...

Early morning Bishopric meetings wear him out. This is what he does as soon as he gets home. He takes a 20 minute nap before church starts.

A Perfect Weekend.

Last weekend Dad and Sean were able to come out and visit us. It was awesome! We were really surprised when they called about a week before and said,"Hey can we come out to see you?

OF COURSE YOU CAN!!!

We are really blessed to have such a great family and so much love and support. We loved being able to spend time with Dad and Sean for those 3 days. We went miniature golfing with the kids and Madisen got a hole in one! We went out for ice cream and ordered dinner in one night. We watched a few movies and played around with the kids. And we laughed and cried together!
A perfect weekend.

Girls Night Out

Last Friday I went out with some friends of mine for a girls night out.  Since Ryan knew about my girls night out, he decided to drop by the store pick up the movie, Princess and the Popstar and surprise the girls with a  daddy daughter date night! What a fun dad he is! It was so cute that he thought of them and wanted to spend  spend time with them doing something they would like. The girls love this movie! They would watch it everyday-twice a day if I let them! (Avery has now declared she wants to be a Popstar when she grows up. So she has been singing all over the house since. She memorized the words to one of the songs, and even performed it with all the dance moves in front of my whole family! I would have never done that as a kid! She is a lot braver than me).

Ryan doesn't look too sure about this movie... :)
Secretly though, I am sure he loved it! ;) haha!

Thanks honey for the night out with the girls!
And I am glad you had fun on your night out with our girls!

Father's Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Father's day weekend. We were grateful to have had Ryan's Dad fly up and stay with us for Father's Day!  We went to Shoshone Falls, just ten minutes from our house. It's beautiful! These falls are actually 50+ feet higher than Niagara Falls. I did not know that. Although, Niagara Falls expanse much wider.

Afterwards we went to Dierke's Lake and played at the park then headed to Chili's to enjoy some lunch.

Dad took us all to the movies in the evening. We saw Madagascar 3. It was actually pretty good. I usually don't care for sequels as much, but this one I thought was pretty funny. The kids loved going to the movies with grandpa and their laughter and excitement always makes it that much more fun!

On Sunday the girls and I made cards and questionnaires for both Ryan and Dad. (I didn't get a picture of Grandpa's though). We made a big breakfast and then I made a roast for after church. We hope Ryan and Dad (and my own Dad and Bob) had a great Father's Day! As well as all the other Dad's out there.

Ryan is an amazing dad to our girls. He is so selfless and always make time for them, no matter what it is. He helps me with everything and loves to be involved with their care and their needs. I don't know of a single dad out there that does as much as Ryan does for our kids and I am not just saying that. I even have other girl friends of mine, comment all the time on how much he is involved with them. Thank you babe, for everything you do. We love you!

I know Ryan learned how to be a great dad from his own parents, as his Dad is just the same way. Thanks Dad Hodges for being such a wonderful dad! We love you and were so glad you could come up and spend this weekend with us! We had such a great time!

Happy Father's Day Bob! We sure appreciate all you do for us! Love you!

Happy Father's Day to my own dad! My dad is incredible, in fact, I think he is Mr. Incredible in disguise! :)

My dad is hilarious. Always one for a laugh.

The girls with my dad.
I love you dad!
