Swimming at Thousand Springs

One of our yearly adventures is going to Thousand Springs sometime in the winter months as it is an indoor hot springs and the water feels so good. The girls love coming here to swim and since they were on their 2-week Christmas break I thought it was the perfect thing to do.

Ryan unfortunately had to work that day so the girls and I headed over with a few families from our ward and had a great time. The girls are making huge improvements in their swimming and with their front and back strokes. I was so proud of them.

Merry Christmas!

On Christmas Eve we read the story of Christ's birth and talked about the real meaning of Christmas...of course I feel like we do that almost daily to remind that what we really need to be thinking about and how to help others. But it is always nice to hear the story from the scriptures of His birth.  We also read a few Christmas stories and had the girls open up a gift from us- new Pajamas! The girls also got each other gifts this year. We had hot chocolate and cookies and then went to straight to bed so that Santa could come to our house.

Christmas morning was fabulous! The girls were so excited and Avery gave the best facial expressions that had us laughing.  The loved all their gifts Santa got them, especially the E-Z riders and their plastic swords. They loved their gifts from their grandparents too.

Later that afternoon my parents drove over from Pocatello to spend a few days with us. We played a lot of Rook, had sword fights and played other board games, and went to the movies. We took the girls to see, Into the Woods. It was pretty good for the most part except at the end. We were disappointed a little bit on how it ended, as I didn't know much about the play.

It was a wonderful Christmas day and I hope our girls will remember bits and pieces of it as they grow up. That is mainly why I write this blog now, is just so they can look back at all these memories of their childhood and it brings a smile to their face. And I hope they always remember the real reason for the season.
