Visiting Grandma and Grandpa

The girls and I drove over to Idaho Falls to hang out with my parents for a few days. While I was there, I got to see Adam and Kari and their new little girl, Callie. She's adorable! 😍 she has so much hair! It was so fun seeing my nephews and nieces.  I don't get to see them enough! And Adam and Kari of course. 😉
My parents have had a few health scares recently. My mom fell while trying to pull up carpet and broke her wrist.  My dad was admitted to the hospital two days later for really high blood pressure and his arms going numb. They still have no idea what's going on with him. But they have done all the testing and can't see anything wrong. But his blood pressure will get up into the 170's-190's even. Which is really high. So the girls and I drove over to hang out with them and help them out. I made taquitos for dinner and lots of it, so they would have extra for dinner meals.  They had lots of snow on their back yard and this picture you can see about 18 deer/ elk! They get a lot up where they live.
My parents also got 4 new chickens. We names them, buttercup, blonde, sleepy and mellow. We played a few cards games too!

Mom

A picture is worth a thousand words.

This was a photo of my Mom's last Christmas here on Earth.  Sean was able to drive out for Christmas to spend it with her and Bob.  We didn't realize that this would be her last.  I don't think any of us realized the extent of her illness at the time.  I'm so glad the Sean was able to be with her and Bob.  I know that Mom was thrilled beyond words to have her youngest son there with her.  We love you Mom!

My Grandparents Home

This was my grandpa and grandma Newman's house when I was growing up. They lived up in the mountains of Star Valley Wyoming. I loved visiting them and their home. They had acres of land all around them to hike and explore. To ride snow mobiles and sled down hills. It was like kid paradise! And it really was filled with so many great memories with me and my siblings and cousins. We used to sled down the hill next to my grandparents house and it was so fun! I remember peeing my pants one time as I laughed so hard! Another time we went on a hike behind their home and ran into a moose! We saw Elk, deer and all sorts of wildlife on those hikes. In the summer time we would take my grandparents RV and boat and drive south a few hours and go boating at Bear Lake. So many special memories!

One of my cousins bought their home when my grandmother got too sick and they had to relocate somewhere closer for her to get assistance. My grandpa stayed by her side until she passed away and then he moved to Mount Pleasant, Utah. My cousin Amber posted on Facebook one day that it had burned down. I was so sad to hear this. I am glad she and her family are safe but what a loss it was. But I wanted to show a before picture because it really was such a special place to me and I believe everyone else too.

5 day trip to Colorado!

We drove over to see Dad, Trudy and Sean for a few days. We also got to see Nate and Erin. It was a fun getaway. We went hiking a few times, out to eat a bunch of times, played countless card and board games, watched movies and saw some gorgeous views up in the eastern Rocky Mountains.

Grandpa Hodges Visits

Grandma Hodges couldn't make it up but she sent this cute care package with candy and cookies. Emily was faking being sad because she came into the kitchen with few candies left. Sorry Bubs! You got to be quick especially where candy in involved.

Newman Family Christmas

For Christmas we try to play several family games, this one was a new one and it maybe will stick every year from now on. It was a big ball full of prizes wrapped in plastic wrap and the object was to unroll it as fast as you could getting as many of the prizes out before the person to your left rolled doubles. It was quite enjoyable seeing some of the kids try to perform this task fast.

We had a good snow storm when we were there and all the kids used the sleds to their full potential riding down the back yard slope with speed!

Grandpa Newman also got on his dune buggy and hooked up a few inter tubes and took the kids all around the yard several times. My parents just moved into their new home about 2 months ago. It's a beautiful home looking over the valley of Idaho Falls. They have almost 3 acres so they have lots of hills and paths along the sides of their house and shop.

My mom wanted a few collages put together for her home; one in their room and one by the front door. She knows I love to do them and to decorate. So she asked me if I put together these collages for her and we got them hung up that weekend too.
