At the Hodges' this week, we watched lots of Christmas movies...
We made a gingerbread house, and decorated it...
The ginger bread house clasped and for about five seconds the girls were so sad. We told them, "Well, I guess you can eat it now", I have never seen them perk up so fast and Emily joined right in, putting as much as candy in her mouth as she could fit.
Smiles, and mouths full of candy.
On another night we painted Christmas ornaments...
Avery was pretty tickled about it...
Another night we made sugar cookies for all our neighbors...
The girls loved doing that and frosting them was a blast with three little ones! haha. Hope our neighbors enjoyed the taste of them more than the appearance of them.
Emily enjoying the benefits of her hard work the day before...
And last night, on Christmas Eve we told of the story of baby Jesus being born and watched a movie of his birth. We tried to remind the girls over and over again the whole week, the real reason we celebrate Christmas but it's hard when Santa and presents are so exciting for them. I am sure that's how all parents have felt and feel. However, we are so grateful for he birth of our Savior and to have this day to celebrate Him and all the blessings we receive through his sacrifices for us.

It looks like you had a lot of FUN leading up to Christmas. I love how messy all the preparations are. Even when my boys were small it was a pain to clean up but they all looked so cute that it was worth it.
You are such fun parents and I know that the girls will have fond memories of helping and learning the true meaning of Christmas.
I'm sure the neighbors really loved the cookies!
