Ryan and I drove down to Utah on Friday to see Emily. We couldn't believe how much Emily has changed in a just two weeks! We were not able to make it down the weekend before due to various reasons, and have only had our morning and nightly updates over the phone from the nurses. The nurses at the University Hospital have been nothing but nice and so helpful. We feel so grateful to them for taking care of Emily and keeping her so comfortable and happy. I was able to nurse Emily twice this weekend, and she did so good! She latched on and totally exceeded everyone's expectations! It was so great to be able to bond with her more and hold her whenever we wanted to... which was always! We also got to see our good friends, Alan and Cristi from California and have dinner with them Friday night in Provo. We stayed with them Friday and Saturday night and had a great time like always! Proud Daddy- these pictures are from Friday night, she weighed in at 3 lbs. 15 1/2 ounces
Saturday morning- this is Emily in her new BIG girl bed! She is now able to maintain her body temperature better so she has been in a crib for about a week now. Emily is still on oxygen but it is pretty much on the lowest setting you can go, so pretty soon she will be off of everything!
We took turns holding Emily.... it was like we were two years old again, learning how to share, as we would "fight" over who had her the longest! haha! :)A little smile. She smiled a lot when we were talking to her. She also smiled when she was getting fed through the tube the breastmilk. Emily and Dad in a deep conversation about the meaning of life. Of course Emily wasn't in the mood for such a deep topic so early in the morning so she starting teasing dad. The teasing has already started...You can see from this picture how much she has grown with my hand over her head from the picture on the side of our blog with my hand on her head. She really liked it when I lightly moved my hand back and forth over her head softly touching her. Her eyes would roll back and she would shudder almost everytime. It was really cute.Emily looking around as we continued to talk with her. This was right before I got to nurse her. We were hanging out comparing hands waiting for the breastfeeding specialist to come in. I think Emily's got MY hands.Emily is getting her first bath! It was neat how we did her bath. We wrapped her up in a towel and kept her wrapped up tight just taking out an arm or leg washing it and putting it back in the towel. Right before her bath though, we weighed her and she was 4 lbs. 3 ounces!Emily after her bath! She smelled of shampoo, had clean fluffy hair, a new outift, and a little pink bow on top to complete the cuteness!Kisses for Emy!And this is what happens when Ryan gets ahold of the camera...What a goof!I told him I was going to post those pictures on the blog. His response, "Go Ahead!" Me laughing at him. He always makes me laugh!Emily stretching

She is so beautiful and I can't beleive how much she has grown! I would say whe looks more like Madison but it may be the oxygen tube :) I am so glad Emily has done so well, you guys are so blessed to have had such an amazing experience with Emily and Ethan!! Yea for family! :)
She's PRECIOUS!!! And I think she looks like a perfect mixture of both of her older sisters. Sounds like she's doing exceptionally well, glad to hear it!!
Oh, it does my heart so good to know that she is getting so healthy! I think she looks more like Madisen...she is beautiful. I cannot believe how big she's getting. What a little sweetheart!
I haven't been on blogger for a few weeks and have just now read over your last few posts. I have not smiled or laughed so much in awhile! What a great idea to have a red neck hoe down! I want to do it. You and Ryan looked perfect! Love your bangs and tatoos.
It was so good to get an update. You guys are awesome.
What a cutie! It's so nice to see her doing so well, and growing and thriving! I think she looks exactly just like herself, although I see a little of her sisters in her.
She looks like Madi, I think. I'm so glad she's doing so well. I can't believe she's getting so big! It's so great :) She has totally, totally changed. When might you be able to bring her home?
Emily has changed SO much. She's looking so great! I definitely think she looks like Avery, but she does have a little of Madi in there as well. What a cutie! It's still so amazing to me just how little she is; even though she looks so big compared with the pics from a few months ago. You and Ryan look so great and happy. That's awesome that you were able to nurse Emily, and that she did so well! Way to go baby girl Emily! I bet you guys are just about counting down the days until she's home!
Holy cow! She is so so big! I love her chubby little cheeks. It's amazing to look back at her pictures when she was first born. What a miracle!!! I'm just so happy for you guys...hopefully you will be able to bring her home soon :). Originally I thought she looked alot like Avery...but there is definately a strong resemblance with her and Madi. Again, I just can't believe how big she is getting...it's so amazing!
I think she definitely looks like Madi (at least in the second picture). She has her own little look too. She is getting so big! I can't believe it. We can't wait to meet her and get to know her cute personality.
Emily is getting soooo big! I can't wait to hold her and kiss those cute little chubby cheeks next week. Hooray for Christy and all that nutricious milk you've been pumping, freezing and transporting!
Emily's eyes and the light red mark on her forhead look just like Madi (also Ryan) but I can't tell about the nose because of the oxygen tube. Of course she probably has the Newman chin...the perfect mixture of Hodges/Newman.
When Emily gets home she is going to get mauled by her big sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Parents and of course Grandparents. It will be so wonderful
Oh my goodness!! She looks absolutely WONDERFUL! I must say she has one cute mamma too! So glad things are going so well with your sweet family!!
I am so glad to see her growing and looking healthier every time you post pics of her. I totally think she looks like Madisen. Same facal features. How fun!
She is beautiful. You look great, and sheesh...KISS THAT ANGEL BABY GIRL FOR ME! SHE REALLY IS BEAUTIFUL! And she looks great. Ryan, you look great, too. Hope all is well!
Emily looks so fantastic! So big and healthy and beautiful! I am so happy to hear she is doing so well! You all look great, what a gorgeous family!
Wow, I can't believe how big she has gotten. Wow. That must be so amazing to watch her change so much every week.
Wow! She looks like a cute chubby little baby now! I'm so glad she is doing so great. She looks like a combination of your two girls- such a cutie pie. And you look beautiful in all of those pictures, too! Hot mama.
She is SO cute! I think she is a mix of Avery and Madi! Glad she is doing well! IT was great to see you the other day!!
I'm so glad to see how well Emily is doing! That's great. You look great too and way to go on the 11k! That's awesome. After I have this baby I want to do a race of some sort...probably start with a 5k since I'm a wimp. Let me know if you ever need a place to stay when you come to visit Emily! I'd love to see you.
I didn't see you guys at the parade we did the help from above float. I think Emily looks like Avery, glad she is doing so well.
Christy she is BEAUTIFUL!! I want to snuggle her so bad!!!
