First Piano Recital

Madisen has been taking piano lessons for about a year now and has had two piano teachers so far. This new teacher I think has been great for her. She has learned a lot and enjoys it for the most part. We struggle with practicing everyday, but I think that's what most parents go through. The daily reminder to practice and the hassle of getting it done without complaining. ;) We are sure proud of her though. She doesn't give up and keeps trying even if she makes a mistake. 

After the piano/cello recital one of the parents brought in bells for the kids to play Christmas songs. Avery and Madisen really enjoyed that and it was fun seeing them feel more confident as they played the bells. 

May all your Sweaters be UGLY and BRIGHT!

Ryan and I wanted to go all out on a party this year with friends from the ward and stake. We decided to do an Ugly Sweater Party and it was such a hit! We had a photo booth with props, tons of good food and entertainment. Everyone brought a white elephant gift and that was hilarious seeing the gifts some people brought and the reactions to those who opened their gifts. It had all us laughing hysterically. 

There were many ugly sweaters but then there were SOME really ugly sweaters! haha. We had a voting booth, so everyone could vote for the Ugliest Sweater of the night. Ryan won! However, since we were the hosts of the party we eliminated ourselves. So Shaun Adams came in next place and Shawn Willsey after that. We bought and made a trophy, gave out a gift card to Sonic and a box of chocolates for the winner. The runner up got a gold pooping Reindeer.
