Cousin Time

Our cousins visited us and we did the usual snow cones and played tag outside. This is our awkward huge.

 

Kid Entrepreneur Day!!

In Twin Falls there were a group of ladies that started a Kid Entrepreneur Day in the summer. Where kids ages 3-14 could make anything and sell it. Avery and Emily both were excited to participate and went to work on finding things they could make for cheap and sell to others. They made bookmarks with buttons and paper clips. They made little finger puppets with googly eyes. They made flower pens, and painted rocks to look like cactus's pets. And they were also busy making rubber band bracelets all month! They lastly made cookies to sell! I think they put in $18 for all the materials and they each made close to $24 at the end. So their profit was $15 each. Not bad. It was a great experience for them; making things, selling things and bargaining with others. 

Then we set up their table for display and they had a great time selling things all afternoon to other vendors and customers in Twin Falls! 

(A friend of mine was on the committee for it, and they asked me to take pictures of all the booths. I am only posting half of the pictures here so you get an idea of what it was like and how many kids participated!) 

 

Avery's new kitten, Misty

This is my new cat Misty-kit for short Misty. I was so excited I got a new cat! Misty was so cute and fluffy I love her! 

 

F.H.E with the Barfuss's!

We hiked down into the canyon behind the Barfuss's house. It's a great spot down in the canyon for a bon- fire. This is the only picture I got of the night...I haven't been very good lately taking pictures!

  Each family performed a skit. Ours involved marshmallows and the "kids" had to wait until I got back to get another marshmallow. And if they didn't eat their first marshmallow they got another one. Ryan ate his right away and we all busted up laughing. There was an experiment done back in the 1960's by Stanford University where they tested the patience of kids and the will power they had with marshmallows. It's pretty cute! So we wanted to reenact it. The Barfuss's and Chesley's put on a skit as well.

 

Manti and Salt Lake temple Trip

When we found out this would be the very last year of the Manti Pageant, we decided we should probably go check it out.  We were there for the 2nd to last performance ever.  We also stopped by Temple Square and explored it with the kids. It was a great trip exploring sites that the pioneers worked so hard to create with very primitive building techniques.

The older two girls were off at girls' camp and so Emily, Dad and I got to spend quality time with just Emily this year. We went out to lunch a few times, we played lots of Mario Kart and did lots of victory dancing...
