4th of July with our NEW uncle!

The story is we found out that Ryan's mom's mom had another child, a boy about 4-5 years after his mom. His grandma Gilmore was married 11 times and went through some pretty traumatic abuse in some of those relationships. She also was involved in a motorcycle accident when she was a teenager and suffered some brain injury where she was in a coma for over a week.

We think with all that she went through she blocked out giving birth and putting up for adoption a son. She can't remember anything about it. Which is strange to most people, but I think knowing her history it's a little easier to understand and not judge her. So John found out he was adopted when his father who raised him was passing away. Crazy! John started looking at Ancestry.com to see if he could find anything. And Tammy came up on his DNA match as a 1st cousin or closer. John and his wife Coleen traveled down to Cedar City to see if they could meet them. They were so nervous that they would be turned away but Tammy was so excited and Grandma Gilmore was there that night and the resemblance is uncanny! They went to do a cheek swab the next day and it showed that Grandma Gilmore was 99.99% his mother and Tammy his half sister! So amazing! So we have a NEW uncle and aunt! They are so nice!

We got to hang out on the fourth of July with Mom, Grandpa Bob and Sean. John and Coleen and their daughter, Amanda. Her husband Matt and their two kids, Julianna and Carson and Coleen's mother.  Ryan got to sing at a big gathering every year for those in 18th ward and other neighbors and friends around the area that come for breakfast each and every year at the Detweiler farm.  We played games and celebrated Grandma Graf and John's birthday later that day. Late, we went out and did some fireworks in the driveway. It was pretty low keep but super fun!
