4th of July Celebration

Last year we started a tradition with a few families in the ward, that we would go river rafting every year on the 4th. This was our 2nd year but after this trip I am not sure how many more years we will go as we got soaked this year and the girls hated it! It wasn't as warm as the year before and we were on a raft that was a little nicer and bigger so we hardly got wet. This year was a completely different story! The waves would come over the front and crash into the girls, knocking Emily clear across the raft! Let's just say there were lots of tears, shuddering and drenched bodies but everyone survived. Phew!
Playing in the water before we took off down the river.

Everyone happy and doing great, until these....

This is Ryan and Ellie Packham who only flip one time down the rapids. They did pretty good.

Two other families we went with.

Matt Packham steering our boat. He did a fine job.

Shawn Willsey steering another

Taking a break, drying off and eating lunch. The girls were so happy to stop. And like the year before we stop in Buhl on our way home and grab some ice cream at the Cloverdale Creamery. Best ice cream you ever had!
A few hours later, we got together with friends for a BBQ and then out to watch the fireworks! We splurged this year and bought 2 packs of sparklers...gasp! I know right? We go all out with the firework. ha.

Madisen was the only one who would even do the sparklers. The other two were too afraid they would be caught on fire! haha.

Happy 4th everyone!
